If you have been fortunate to have watched Olympic competitions in Beijing this week you are really lucky guy because such enchanting sight, when you feel like you’re watching matters of sporting life and death is unforgettable indeed. It’s hard to disagree, but any kind of sport though it is tennis or football, gymnastic or swimming in a lot of its ways is really like life, figuratively speaking as far you can push yourself in sport so far you can push yourself in life, trying to get best result however difficult it is.

And watching Live US Open or Olympic tennis competition when Rafael Nadal throws himself onto his back to celebrate the win over Novak Djokovic can convince you and make sure that that is absolute truth. By the way using some of tennis rules are not out of place in our everyday life at all. So, dont forget to spend a few minutes each day thinking about how you want to perform, don't wait until the night before competition, avoid depressing or upsetting thoughts. Limit personal conflicts. Don't quarrel the day of the game. Look forward and plan to enjoy it!

Well, the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad are over and if you have not had the happy chance to be there, in the Bird's Nest stadium, observing grandiose sport events however I guess you used placed here links to see the enchanting sight online.

As the saying is all good things must come to an end, you can say what you like but sport matches we love have continued. And if you have not seen yet how Real Madrid won the Spanish Super Cup for the first time since 2003 with a 4-2 win over Valencia with goals by Ruud van Nistelrooy, Sergio Ramos, Ruben de la Red and Gonzalo Higuian you can do it using football videos right now. Just look at how David Silva is opening the score with an exact shot into the Real's gate in the 32nd minute and Valencia goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand is letting through the goal being absolutely helpless at the moment. By the way if you remember Spain team won Euro 2008 just because David Silva played the way he is.

The Marion Jones disgrace

Monday, July 28, 2008

U.S. District Judge Kenneth Karas sent a message to professional athletes when he imposed the maximum sentence on Olympic champion Marion Jones last Friday. Jones was sentenced to the maximum six months in prison for lying about using steroids and for her role in a check-fraud scheme. She pleaded for lenience out of concern for her two young children, including an infant she's still nursing. "Athletes serve as role models," said the judge. "In our society athletes have an elevated status, they entertain and they inspire us."

In addition Jones was given two years' probation and was sentenced to 800 hours of community service. Despite previous denials that she had ever used performance-enhancing drugs, last October Jones finally admitted she had used a steroid called "the clear" from September 2000 to July 2001. Jones won three gold and two bronze medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics: golds in the 100- and 200-meter runs, and in the 1600-meter relay, and bronzes in the long jump and 400-meter relay. She returned those medals before the International Olympic Committee asked her to do so.

After pleading guilty last year, Jones broke down, saying, "It's with a great amount of shame that I stand before you and tell you that I have betrayed your trust. I have been dishonest and you have every right to be angry with me. I have let my family down, I have let my country down, and I have let myself down."

Jones was devastated by the sentence. "As everyone can imagine, I'm very disappointed today. But as I stood in front of all of you for years in victory, I stand in front of you today. I stand for what is right. I respect the judge's order, and I truly hope that people will learn from my mistakes."

In a free country it should be up to each individual to decide what to put into his or her own body, but when it comes to athletics, ingesting steroids gives an unfair edge and is simply cheating.

Rafael Nadal has destroyed Federer to win French Open. Nadal defeated Roger Federer in the final game for the third year running on Sunday and joined Swedish legend Bjorn Borg as the only man to win four straight titles at Roland Garros.

"I played a perfect match," said Nadal, who was presented with the trophy by Borg.

"I'm sorry for that final but you played well," he told Federer. "I want to thank Roger for his attitude on the court."

"I would have hoped to do better than four games but Rafael is very, very strong," Federer told the crowd.

"He dominated this tournament like maybe no one before except Borg, so congratulations Rafa.

"It was still a good week. Losing in a final is never easy but I will try again next year."

Nadal broke the world No 1 three times as he raced through the first set in 32 minutes.

The Euro 2008 soccer competition

The Euro 2008 soccer competition kicks off this Saturday with Switzerland playing the Czech Republic. One familiar face to anyone who watched the Champions League final on TV will be Petr Cech, the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Germany are the tournament favourites, and they almost have home advantage with their games being played in neighbouring Austria. Italy, widely regarded as second favourites, have just suffered a huge blow with their captain Fabio Cannavaro being ruled out injured after a training ground clash with a team mate only 6 hours after arriving in Switzerland. He will sit out the full tournament.

Portugal are joint third favourites, largely due to Ronaldo's impressive season with Manchester United. He scored 42 goals, including the vital 1st half goal in the Champions League final. He also won "player of the year" in the English Premier League.

WITH Super 14 finals out of reach, Western Force coach John Mitchell has set his side the task of avoiding the unenviable record of losing to every other Australian side this season, foxsports.com reports. Having been pipped by the Waratahs and pumped by Queensland, the Force finish their third season with a visit from the ACT Brumbies on Friday.

And with Laurie Fisher stepping down after the game, Mitchell has said he intends to leave outgoing Brumbies' head coach with few good memories of his last game in charge.

“You can be remembered for your season finishing on a bad note or finishing on a good note, and both teams have an opportunity to finish 7-6 - that sounds a lot better than the other way,” Mitchell said.

“It is a local derby, and the Brumbies have been the benchmark of Australian rugby for a long time.

“The outcome (of the game) could be that (we lose to every Australian side), but more importantly it is about how we play.

“If that happens to be the case then we have to go back to the drawing board and find out why we have not performed against Australian teams this year.”

Allen Iverson.

Allen Iverson, playing in Philadelphia for the first time since being traded to Denver in December 2006, led all scorers with 32 points Wednesday night. But it was the 76ers who made the big plays down the stretch and spoiled their former MVP’s return with a 115-113 victory over the Nuggets, Philadelphia (AP) reports.

“I dreamed it up a certain way, and it was better than that,” Iverson said. “Everything was perfect but one thing, and that was not winning the game.”

Iverson misfired on a 20-foot jumper and Marcus Camby missed a put-back in the final seconds as the Nuggets lost their second straight and failed to pick up any ground in their bid for a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference.

“I almost had a perfect trip at my home away from home,” Iverson said.

Allen Ezail Iverson (born June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia), nicknamed A.I. is an American professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association. An 11-year veteran at the age of 32, he is considered to be one of the most prolific and consistent scorers in the history of the game (his career average of 27.8 points per contest is third all-time behind only Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain).

Sport Diving.

Undoubtedly, diving is one of the most spectacular graceful and dramatic sports. Diving entered the Olympic Games as a new event almost a century ago. It was simply diving, as we know it today, and indeed, the 1996 program did not change a blink from the 1924 program. Now here comes some truly fancy diving: synchronized diving, or diving in pairs, which was introduced in the Sydney 2000 Games, doubling the program in more than one way.

Diving competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 10 to August 23, at the Beijing National Aquatics Center. The 2008 Olympic Team Trials for diving will take place June 18-22 in Indianapolis, IN.

Very beautiful picture, isn't it? More than 12 thousand competitors have taken part in the Engadin Ski Marathon on the second Sunday in March, crossing a 42km ski race through some of Switzerland's most amazing scenery.

Competitors gather at the start, get whipped into a frenzy by music from Chariots of Fire, and take off Le-Mans-style across a couple of snow-covered lakes. Then a short climb up the 'Golan Heights' and the finish is just a whimper away!

Shooting Events.

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

No wonder that Olympic history abounds with tales and really fantastic stories of athletes who overcame extremely unfavorable adversity on the way to win gold medals, and stories about shooters are not an exception to the rule. For example Karoly Takacs' was part of Hungary's world-champion pistol-shooting team in 1938 when an army grenade exploded in his right hand. Ten years later, he won the first two gold medals in rapid-fire pistol - after teaching himself to shoot left-handed.

Target shooting became an Olympic sport in 1896. Today shooting events at the Olympics Games fall into four general categories: shotgun, rifle, pistol and running-target events. Shooting is widely followed both as a sport for major sporting events like the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games and as an individual sport. There are thousands of shooting clubs and ranges all around the world, including online services and most of them welcome anyone wanting to learn or to develop their shooting skills.

No doubt that one of the most important part of the shooting sport is the equipment of course. So if you want to learn more about pistols and rifles which actually come in many different types, shapes and sizes you should visit Nite Site Airsoft Website where you find any needed information though it were spring air, gas powered, electric air pistols and rifles or games, safety precautions, companies, equipment, laws and care.

Last Season Teddy Sheringham

Veteran former England striker Teddy Sheringham, who will turn 42 announced he will retire at the end of the season and will finally end his 26-year career, BBC reports. Sheringham said: "After a long and fun-filled career I have decided this season will be my last. "I've had a fantastic time and want to thank all those who have contributed to my career and helped me along the way."

Sheringham added: "I've no immediate thoughts about going into management but football has always been my life and hopefully I will be back at some point in the future.

"Until then I have to try and help Colchester United stay in the Championship."

My Dad wanted me to carry on and beat Sir Stanley Matthews' record but I feel this season is the right time to bow out”.

Anabolic Steroids and Sport.

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Since anabolic steroids were banned by the International Olympic Council in 1967, many, if not all, major professional sports organizations following their example, have banned the use of steroids by athletes. The cause is their potentially dangerous side effects and because they give the user an unfair advantage. There are many types of steroids, but one of the most common of them is anabolic-androgenic that promote growth of skeletal muscle (anabolic effect) and the development of male sexual characteristics (androgenic effects).

Most people think that this is just the stuff, something like food and drug supplement they buy steroids to increase muscle mass, strength, and endurance but actually they do a whole lot more and all of it is not so pretty. Additionally, Dr. Wadler stresses that "unlike almost all other drugs, all steroid based hormones have one unique characteristic -- their dangers may not be manifest for months, years and even decades. Therefore, long after you gave them up you may develop side effects."

Today every young athlete striving for victory, striving to win at any cost has to take a time to learn about the benefits, risks and many unknown factors regarding so-called performance-enhancing drugs and to decide that the benefits aren't worth the risks.

Roger Federer lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets in their Australian Open semifinal yesterday to end the defending champion's record run of 10 straight appearances in Grand Slam tennis finals.

"I am just very amazed I coped with the pressure today," the 20-year-old Novak Djokovic said. "In the most important moments, I played my best tennis. It's just amazing, indescribable, to beat the No. 1 player of the world, one of the best players this sport has ever had, in straight sets."

"I think he made the more important points today, it was a bit unfortunate for me," said Federer, who rubbed his eyes frequently at his post-match news conference. "There is no doubt I have played better before.

NFL Legends.

The list of the best players NFL today era includes such famous names as Joe Montana Montana, Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White, another outstanding players and Walter Payton of course. Jim Finks, the former Chicago Bears general manager who drafted Payton, said about this “sweetness” guy: "He is a complete football player. He is better than Jim Brown. He is better than O.J. Simpson."

Mike Ditka, who coached Payton and the Bears to a victory in Super Bowl XX gave him high praise saying that Walter was the best football player he's ever seen and probably one of the best people he’s ever met. "Walter takes pride in the little things, the blocking, the faking. Once against Cincinnati, he picked up a couple of linebackers and liked to have killed them," coach remembers. "He could do it all: run, block and pass. But off the field, he was just as great of a person. He was a real person. There was no phoniness about him."

Walter Payton is really greatest sport’s legend and who have ever seen his play will never forget. He could play any position, he never avoided contact, in response to accusation that he "run over" his opponents trying to hit them as hard as he can, Payton usually said: "My coach at Jackson State, Bob Hill, always said that if you are going to die, you should die hard, never die easily." It seems to be he has to carry the Bears on his shoulders. There are many talented players but real genius we can be counted on the fingers of one hand and Walter Payton is one of them.
